  • 55% of students do not feel proud of the way Otero looks.
  • 19% of families state their child does not feel safe telling an adult about being bullied.
  • 33% of staff think their stress level is unmanageable and are unsure of the resources available to help in managing stress in the workplace.

Next Steps

  • Determine the next steps with facilities for wall murals. Survey students on what they would like to see improved (curb appeal (rocks, grass), field, playground and interior).
  • Change the narrative by highlighting the social groups and SEL happening daily in class and with mental health providers (social media/newsletters/etc.)
  • Continue building teams (CKH/R.E.L.E.V.A.N.T Leaderships - Transforming Team Communication), working with the district Mental Health Services Coordinator on systems, need a break cards with break room.
